The event will cover how the farm have managed and to an extent controlled common rush on parts of the more productive land within the criteria for organic management.

We will also cover some topical changes within the CAP Reform remit relating to soil and nutrient management as well as impacts of greening. The key element will be a farm walk with discussion on progress made on land improvement and options for next steps.

Cumbria organics are also keen to discuss setting up a Soil Association funded ‘Field Lab’ project in the region to look at the issues of rush management, land improvement and biodiversity enhancement over the next couple of years.
