York Auction Centre in conjunction with the York Centre Support Group for Rare Breeds holds two Rare Breed sales each year.

The Autumn Show and Sale is one of the largest and longest running sales in the country. This includes classes for Cattle and Pigs, in the sheep section there are entries for Down, Longwool and Hill and Heath breeds as well as all the primitive breeds.The poultry section has entries of all breeds of poultry, bantams, waterfowl, turkeys and geese. There are also sections for Native and unusual breeds of Cattle, Pigs and Sheep.
